Dr. Ellen Leichty

Dr. Ellen Leichty joined Barton Heights Veterinary Hospital in July 2025. She earned her undergraduate degree from Goshen College and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University.

Early in her career, Dr. Leichty worked in large-animal medicine, where she gained valuable hands-on experience diagnosing and treating a variety of medical conditions. This experience helped establish a strong foundation in veterinary medicine and patient care.

She has since focused her career on small-animal medicine, providing care for dogs and cats. Dr. Leichty enjoys building relationships with pet owners, taking the time to answer questions, and developing thoughtful treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. She believes in making both pets and their families feel comfortable, informed, and well cared for.

Dr. Leichty lives in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, traveling, birdwatching, and spending time with her five cats.

She is happy to be part of the Barton Heights Veterinary Hospital team and looks forward to continuing to provide compassionate, knowledgeable care to the pets and families in our community.
